An overflowing gutter is the cheapest roofing problem there is and the most expensive one to ignore. Water running down a wall for two winters gets into the cavity, and by the time it shows on the plaster inside you are paying a plasterer as well as a roofer.
Clearing, and then finding out why
Clearing a gutter takes an hour. Working out why it filled is the part that saves you doing it again next autumn. Usually it is the fall running the wrong way after a bracket has dropped, a joint that has lost its seal, or a downpipe blocked at the shoe rather than at the top.
The trees are the culprit
Properties backing onto the Walks, along the Gaywood river or anywhere under the limes on the older avenues fill twice a year rather than once. If that is you, we will say so and quote a guard rather than sell you an annual clear you do not need.
