A tall stack on a Georgian house near the market place, leaning visibly and with the faces blown off a dozen bricks on the weather side. It had been repointed in a cement mix at some point, which is what had done the damage.
Taken down to just above the flaunching, rebuilt in reclaimed soft reds bedded and pointed in lime mortar, a new cast cap and flaunching, and a new code 5 tray, soakers and apron. Independent scaffold with a lift above the ridge.
Nine days including the scaffold. The damp on the bedroom chimney breast dried out over the following winter and has not come back.
