What changes within a mile of the sea
Every tile in the perimeter zones gets clipped rather than just hung, because that is where uplift does its work. Ridge and verge go on dry and mechanically fixed, never bedded. Fixings go up a grade to stainless, because galvanised nails and salt air are a short relationship. None of that is exotic and none of it is expensive compared with doing the roof twice.
Carrstone and pantile
A lot of the older housing between Hunstanton and Snettisham is carrstone under clay pantile. Where the walls are stone the wall plate detail is rarely square, and a modern interlocking tile fights it. We usually re-lay in pantile for that reason as much as for how it looks.
